Police have laid additional charges against two of the three people charged over a $17 million drug ring run allegedly from Callala through the dark web.

Cody Ward, 25, of Callala Beach and Shanese Koullias, 24, of Callala Bay had 22 additional charges laid against them when they appeared in Nowra Local Court on Friday, May 31.

Ward faces new charges of supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, six counts of supplying a prohibited drug commercial quantity, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug and attempting to prescribe a restricted substance.

He now faces 20 charges after police laid six additional charges in April, four counts of import commercial quantity of border-controlled drugs, and two counts of import marketable quantity of border-controlled drugs.

He is also charged with five counts of supplying a prohibited drug commercial quantity, one count of supplying a large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs, knowingly direct the activities of a criminal group and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.

Shanese Koullias faces five extra charges of supplying a prohibited drug commercial quantity, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug and attempting to prescribe a restricted substance.

The pair along with Koullias’ younger sister Patricia, 20, of Sydney all appeared in court before registrar Craig Cockburn where bail was again refused.

The trio were charged in February this year over the the large-scale drug supply across Australia using the dark web and postal services.

Police allege Ward was operating as an online vendor and supplying prohibited drugs, including cocaine, MDMA, LSD, cannabis, methylamphetamine, amphetamine, and prescription medication.

In April 2018, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad established Strike Force Royden to investigate criminal networks involved in the supply of illicit drugs in NSW and identified a “technologically-sophisticated online drug distribution network” operating from the South Coast.

Police estimate the syndicate to have dealt around $17 million of drugs across the nation.

During raids on five properties, officers recovered 2.5kg of white powder, 200g of MDMA, more than 100,000 LSD tabs and a significant quantity of Xanax made to look like candy, sophisticated computer equipment, more than $80,000 cash and several vehicles including a Mercedes-Benz were also seized.

A Maserati also believed to be owned by Ward was later found burn out west of Nowra.

Ward and Shanese Koullias will reappear in court on July 12, while Patricia Koullias will reappear on June 14, where it is expected she will apply for bail.
